Some of the greatest surprises I’ve had in the weeks leading up to the convention are the connections I’ve made on Twitter with other conference attendees. @evelinamada let us know that @VenTESOL’s stand “will be located at the lobby of the New Orleans Convention Center, outside of Exhibit Hall A. Friday 8-9″ in a tweet yesterday. Heidi Hyte (@ESLtrail) wrote back to us when we asked about her presentation: “I’ll be presenting at TESOL on Friday at 11am and Saturday at 2pm. See you there!” Connections like these with new acquaintances from around the world fill a long-awaited convention with even more anticipation.
If you’re on Twitter, join in the conversation. Use the hashtag #TESOL11 when you tweet about the convention, and search for what is happening in New Orleans. Even if you’re not coming to Louisiana this week, you can still be a part of it all by following the official convention blog (@TESOL2011). Plus, follow me (@ESLbasics) as I post tweets and video blogs along the way.

Sand… I think we follow you already… so let’s meet up for sure. @ reply us and let’s schedule something!
Maria… We will be posting all week. You can follow our tweets at twitter.com/eslbasics. We will try and add #TESOL11 to all of our stuff.
Thanks for the comments!
Dear Andrea,
Great idea to tweet about the convention, eventhoug I’m not attending this year I can follow you all. Enjoy another great TESOL Convention.
Greetings from Valencia, Venezuela.

Thanks, Andrea. I’ve been tweeting to the hashtag #TESOL2011, so I’m not sure if it was getting picked up in twitter searches. I’ll tag #TESOL11 next time. My twitter account is @teacherrogers. We need to plan a “meet-up” via twitter. I’d love to connect with other participants, as well as my peer bloggers!
